On June 1, 2021, New Brunswick’s Express Entry Stream issued a round of invitations to eligible candidates in the Express Entry pool. Qualifying candidates have received a Letter of Interest (LOI) from New Brunswick on their Express Entry profile notifying them of the province’s interest in nominating them.
There are many layers to the eligibility requirements for New Brunswick’s Express Entry stream. Candidates must first meet the minimum criteria to submit an Express Entry profile. On top of this, applicants must also meet submission criteria, general stream criteria, and a minimum points requirement to be considered for nomination.
To be considered under New Brunswick’s Express Entry stream, candidates must meet one of the following submission criteria:
In addition, candidates must meet each of the following general stream criteria:
Those wishing to be considered must also score a minimum of 67 with New Brunswick’s points system. The points system targets six main selection factors:
Candidates who receive a Letter of Interest on their Express Entry profile without submitting an Expression of Interest must also meet the province’s targeted draw criteria, which is not released to the public.
Periodically through out the year, New Brunswick invite candidates directly from the Express Entry pool to apply for provincial nomination, often in response to labour-market needs. They do not release information on the criteria used for each round of invitations, so the criteria can only be found by looking at the type of profile who received an invite. In this case, here are two examples of candidates that received an invitation in this draw:
Candidate 1:
Age: 49
Connection to New Brunswick: Profile indicated a child (PR or citizen) residing in New Brunswick
Education: Master’s degree
Language: CLB 9 or above in each area of the exam
NOC code: 4212
CRS score: 371
Candidate 2:
Age: 42
Connection to New Brunswick: Profile indicated a sibling (PR or citizen) residing in New Brunswick
Education: Two-year diploma
Language: CLB 9 or above in each area of the exam
NOC code: 0631
CRS score: 347
Candidates who have received a Letter of Interest (LOI) on their Express Entry profile must create an Expression of Interest on New Brunswick’s INB application portal. Upon creating a profile, applicants should notify the province. After this, the province will verify the candidate’s LOI and may send an invitation to apply for nomination to those who qualify.
