B.C. PNP: 506 new invitations

The BC PNP has now welcomed 2,432 contenders to apply for a common designation so far in 2021.

British Columbia gave 506 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian Permanent Residence on March 16.

The solicitations were given to applicants from the:

  • Skills Immigration (SI)

  • Express Entry BC (EEBC)

These were the streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

All the more explicitly, the individuals who got solicitations were from the:

  • Skilled Worker

  • International Graduate

  • Entry Level

  • Semi-Skilled sub-classifications

of Skills Immigration and Express Entry British Columbia streams.

There were two separate draws, one that was explicitly for retail and discount exchange directors (NOC 0621) and café and food managers (NOC 0631). An aggregate of 78 solicitations went to individuals working in these occupations, and the base common score prerequisite was 11The leftover 428 up-and-comers who were welcomed had scores somewhere in the range of 81 and 96.

B.C. has now welcomed 2,432 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) competitors so far in 2021.

British Columbia Tech Pilot:

After every week, the province issues the invitations under the Tech Pilot. The BC PNP Tech Pilot is an immigration program for IT workers and international students, who have their occupations in demand. It operates through B.C.’s existing provincial immigration streams. To be considered for the Tech Pilot, the candidates must a valid job offer from the designated occupations. The eligible occupations include computer managers, information systems managers, civil engineers, web designers and developers, translators, video recording technicians, and others.

The other immigration streams of British Columbia need a full-time permanent job offer requirement, whereas the Tech Pilot job offers can have a minimum duration of one year. Those candidates who are invited to apply for a provincial nomination can submit their application within 30 days.

Express Entry British Columbia:

To be considered under the BC PNP, most candidates must have an indeterminate, full-time job offer from an employer within the province who is willing to support them through the appliance process.
Express Entry is the federal government’s application management system. Express Entry candidates are given points that supported human capital factors like age, work experience, education, and language proficiency in English or French.
Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination receive a further 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

The British Columbia PNP Express categories are open for those candidates who possess a valid profile in the federal Express Entry system. The federal Express Entry System is responsible for managing the three main economic immigration streams of Canada. Those streams are:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class

  • Federal Skilled Trades Class 

  • Canadian Experience Class
